Boise Hole = Fail Whale.

Those who know us well know that most of us are annoyed about the giant empty hole in the center of our downtown. Over the years we’ve been promised that what is now a giant hole would become an economic powerhouse for our fair city. Because of what appear (to our untrained eyes) to be a series of mis-steps by our local politicos, that has not happened.

Our feelings about the matter have been documented here and here. Generally, it comes down to this: we believe that, considering that there seems to be no economically viable solution for the property in the foreseeable future, the highest and best use for this piece of property is public space.

At a minimum, we think the error of the Boise hole should be recognized with a new banner: a Fail Whale banner. What do you think?
