Kia, you’ve got my attention. It’s impossible to ignore human-sized hamsters rapping to Black Sheep* in classic hip-hop music video style. Believe it or not, that song is going on 20 years old. I should know, I owned the cassette tape.
It’s Interesting that they take shots at their boxy competition (I’m theorizing here) -The Nissan Cube, Scion and Honda Element - with a roving toaster, cardboard box and front-loading washing machine. Do they know they too have subscribed to the styling of a Kenmore dryer?
It shows how an original, visually compelling idea can effectively promote a box.
*Black sheep was part of the of the “Native Tongue” movement with A Tribe Called Quest and Del La Soul.
