Hugh MacLeod: Ignore Everybody.
This book could change your life if you’d let it. More than a business book, more than a “creativity” book, in many ways work is a manifesto about a life philosophy that advocates freedom: from expectations, money, self-imposed limits, failure and more.
It’s a great read. And filled with actionable advice. Two favorites:
- Don’t try to stand out from the crowd; avoid crowds altogether.
- The idea doesn’t have to be big. It just has to be yours.
Good stuff. Heck, the cartoons alone are worth the price of admission.
One word of caution: if you have an issue with cursing or sex-talk or general crassness, you’re going to have a problem with this book. Otherwise, you’ll love it.
